Food Festival 1998
Myanmar
Food Festival '98 was held on 20th November 1998 in Labouisse
Hall, UNICEF House, across the street from UN Secretariat
Building. Members of Myanmar Club at UN, America-Burma
Buddhist Association, Myanmar Baptist Church of NY, Mandalay
Palace restaurant, and other individuals participated in the
event.
The
festival was a success not only for Myanmar Association, but
for all Myanmar nationalities as we had the opportunity to
present our culture and traditional food to international
staff members of United Nations.
The
event was smooth and well-organized from the beginning thanks
largely to tireless efforts of organizing committee of Myanmar
Club, unrelenting support from volunteers, members of Myanmar
Association and non-members alike, and the unity among Myanmar
Organizations in New York.
Feedback
from the guests was of a very positive one. There were some
suggestions for improvements in minor technical areas and they
will surely be considered in future events.
This
event, Myanmar Food Festival '98, could not have been possible
were it not for members of Myanmar Club and help from friends.
Myanmar Association Inc. sincerely thanks all those friends
and members who made this event such wonderful and successful
one.
